First official team meeting

This past Wednesday, our 2017 Costa Rica team met for its first official work meeting.  We discussed our team mission and verse:

Mission statement:  Ambassadors of Christ spreading the love of Jesus by humbly serving others and witnessing to the nations.

Team verse:  2 Corintios 5:20Así que, somos embajadores en nombre de Cristo, como si Dios exhortase por medio de nosotros; os rogamos en nombre de Cristo: Reconciliaos con Dios. 

Oops, I mean:  II Corinthians 5:20 Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.

We also had some fun with team-building assignments and learning a children's song in Spanish. Prayer partner's were assigned, and we began our battle with prayer.  We are also studying the book Foreign to Familiar, an excellent resource for cross-cultural relations.

Another part of our "work week," is to meet at Tuesday lunch time to practice our conversational Spanish.  Esta semana usamos el tiempo para practicar saludos y palabras que trata de las carreras.
